ICC to Launch Ballon d'Or-Style Awards Ceremony Combining 2025 and 2026 Seasons
The ICC will relaunch its annual cricket awards in 2027 with a major event inspired by football's Ballon d'Or.
According to Cricket: Live Cricket Scores, News, Schedule, Stats, Videos, Results - myKhel.com, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced plans to revamp its annual awards ceremony by combining the 2025 and 2026 cricket seasons into a single event. This new format is set to debut in 2027.
The ICC aims to create a prestigious awards event modeled after football's renowned Ballon d'Or ceremony, elevating the recognition of cricketing excellence on a global stage.
This change reflects the ICC's intention to enhance the profile and impact of its awards, celebrating players' performances over a two-year period rather than annually.
