Knicks Sign Former Lakers Sharpshooter Dalton Knecht to Two-Year Deal
Dalton Knecht, a 2024 first-round pick and former Lakers player, joins the New York Knicks after being waived by Los Angeles.
According to sports.yahoo.com, The New York Knicks have signed Dalton Knecht to a two-year contract following his release from the Los Angeles Lakers. Knecht, a 25-year-old guard known for his three-point shooting, was a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Knecht showed promise during his rookie season with the Lakers, averaging 9.1 points per game and shooting 37% from beyond the arc. However, his playing time diminished significantly in his second year, leading to his eventual roster cut.
In a farewell message to Lakers fans, Knecht expressed gratitude for his time with the team and acknowledged the challenges of his departure. The Knicks are now adding a sharpshooter with NBA experience to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
